What We Believe

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible
We believe the Scriptures are the inspired and inerrant Word of God. They are revelation from God to man and the infallible rule of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:162 Peter 1:20-21
The Godhead
There is only one living and true God. There are three persons in the Godhead: the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. Isaiah 45:5-6; 1 John 5:7
Father - We are invited into relationship with God, as our Father, as indicated by Jesus. Matthew 5:9; Ephesians 4:6
Son - Jesus Christ, who was conceived of the Virgin Mary, is the only begotten Son of the Father. Jesus was crucified, buried and rose from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.Luke 1:26-37;
Holy Spirit - We believe in the ministry of Holy Spirit to glorify Christ, to convict men of sin, righteousness, and judgment and to empower the believer. John 15:26; John 16:8; Acts 1:8
Salvation
Salvation is a free gift and is received by grace through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to relationship as an heir of God, through repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
Water Baptism
We believe water baptism, by immersion, is a declaration of our identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Matthew 28:18-19; Romans 6:4; Hebrews 10:22
Empowerment of Believers
The indwelling of Holy Spirit enables believers to live holy and minister supernaturally. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, with speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, to be the initial evidence of this experience. We believe in the operation of the nine Gifts of the Spirit and encourage our people to live so that these gifts may be manifest in their lives. Acts 2:4; Acts 19:6; John 14:12; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
Communion
We believe the regular taking of Communion is, for believers, an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross. Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:26
 Growing Relationship with God
Every believer should be transformed to the image of Christ by obeying God’s word, submitting to the lordship of Jesus, and yielding to the Holy Spirit.
